What to Expect

Arriving and Departing

Every child's safety and security is of upmost importance to us. For that reason, each child must be signed into the Center every day and it must be done by:

1) Persons 18 years of age or older;

2) Persons whose names appear on the enrollment information form.

3) A note written by the parent authorizing a person whose name is not on the Application and/or Emergency Card to bring the child.

4) The person bringing a child to the Center must remain with the child until the child is accepted by a staff member.

Likewise, students may only be picked up by authorized adults. It is the custodial parent's responsibility to keep the Center informed of the legal status of guardianship or students. Li'l Peoples Learning Center will:

1) Not accept the responsibility of deciding which parent has legal custody where there is no court document.

2) Accept the information given by the enrolling parent unless we are presented with a court document from the custodial parent that shows otherwise.

3) Not subvert the law.

For each child's protection, the following criteria are followed:

1) Students will only be released to authorized persons listed on the student's enrollment information form. The authorized person must be 18 years of age and be able to show picture identification.

2) No child is to be released without specific permission from a parent or guardian. We MUST have authorization in WRITING. If an emergency situation occurs, the parent/guardian must contact the Center Director giving verbal authorization for release of a child to an alternate person. The parent/guardian will be asked to provide the name and description of the person authorized to pick up the child. Unless the Center Director can identify the caller without question, the parent/guardian will be asked to give their pre-determined code word.

Because our staff is contracted for specific hours and often have personal plans for their off-time, it is essential that all children be picked up prior to the posted closing time. A penalty of $5 per every five-minute increment per child past posted closing time (or 12:30 pm for morning schedule children) will be assessed, without exception.
